Hi. I'm Josh from Fire & Ice and if you're watching this video, then that means that you've scheduled a time to install a new heating and cooling system. Most people only replace one to two HVAC systems in their lifetime. You might have some questions. You might have some fears. There might be some things about the process that you just don't understand. Then this video will calm your fears, answer all your questions, and tell you what to expect during the installation process by a residential HVAC contractor.
Purchasing a new heating and cooling system is a big investment, and we want to make sure, you know, everything involved with the installation process. We've broken this video down to three stages to show you the entire process from start to finish. In this video, we will cover what can you prepare before the installation? What should you expect during the installation process? And finally, what to do after the installation is completed. By the end of this video. You will be confident and prepared for the installation date, and you will know the steps that we take to make the process as smooth and easy as possible.
What can you prepare for the installation?
So, let's get started with what can you prepare before the installation? The first thing. Let's clear the area for installation both inside and outside. You want to remove shrubbery or any other outdoor object within five feet. And also, this is an all-day project. So, consider any special needs for your pets. It's important to review the installation date and time that is emailed to you. We typically arrive between 8 and 9 in the morning on most installs.
What should you expect during the installation process?
So now let's talk about what you should expect during the installation process. First thing will happen when the technicians arrive is they will do a walk through and review your system purchase options. They will also check the areas that they will be installing in. The technicians will then lay down floor protection to protect the areas in your home that they are going to be working in or working through. So, then they will remove and dispose of the old system.
So, once the system has been removed, it is now time to install the new equipment. Typically, when we are installing the new equipment, this process could range between 4 and 7 hours. There are many times where we have to do some modifications of existing ductwork, gas lines, some wiring before we can properly get this system installed. The most important part of this is to make sure that all the new equipment can be installed properly.
So, once the installation of the new equipment has been completed, it is now time to test the system. We do have a process and we call it commissioning. It's a 57-point commissioning process for a full system to ensure that we are meeting all manufacturer's specifications during operations, both heating and cooling and any other accessories that you have purchased.
Now it's time to review the operation with you, the customer. During this review, we're going to walk you through the areas that we have worked in and show you our completed installation.
What can you do after the installation is complete?
Finally, let's see what to do after the installation is completed. The first process is our RSP will come back and perform a final quality inspection of the system that was installed. This happens generally a week or so after it's been installed, and it's been running in your home at that time. He will also help you set up the city inspection that is required for code compliance This is safety to make sure that that system is in properly for you to make sure we did the things we were supposed to do.
And don't forget that one year after your new system has been installed, it is ready for a maintenance agreement. Maintenance agreement is a great protection of your investment and honors the manufacturer's ten-year warranty.
What are the next steps?
