Heating & Air Conditioning Services for Hilliard, OH
True story, the first night I [Fire & Ice editor and staff writer Mark Wilson] ever spent in Hilliard, OH was sleeping in my car while traveling to visit a friend (before I lived in Central Ohio). It wasn’t exactly pleasant, and I learned firsthand the importance of a good bed even when you’re in your early 20s. Fortunately, I’ve wizened up since then, and Hilliard has proven to be a frequent destination for me.
Hilliard is a city in the Columbus, OH metro area. Nearly 40,000 people are estimated to live there at the moment, and it’s seen a steep rise in population in recent years.
More to the point, our goal at Fire & Ice is to become the largest and most trusted provider of HVAC services for Hilliard. We have a long way to go to meet that goal, but we already serve hundreds of homes in the city.

Furnace Tune-ups, Installation and Repair
As I write this section, it’s in the middle of a snowstorm. We’re getting calls throughout the day from people having trouble with their systems.
This is good for business. But it also means there are a lot of people without heat in their homes right now.
Our recommendation is always that you be proactive about your heating and cooling equipment. This means calling in September or October for your furnace tune-up, having yearly maintenance of all major equipment, and replacing your filter regularly.
And if you don’t? Maybe you’ll be ok. Or maybe you’ll be calling us when it’s 10 degrees and you’re crossing your fingers that we can make it out to you before your pipes burst from freezing over.

The Early Television Foundation and Museum
Ever wanted to know how television got its start? Or see a bunch of cool, retro TV sets like the kind your grandparents owned? You can do both at the Early Television Museum in Hilliard, OH .
This cultural oddity preserves and recounts the technology and history of early TV. This goes as far back as the 1920s, with technological inventions and systems paving the way for the modern systems we see today. The Museum’s Foundation is a charitable organization that helps keep the museum alive through donations and visitors. So if you’re curious, go check it out!
Air Conditioner Tune-ups, Installation and Repair
Did you know that 9 out of 10 installations have something wrong with them?
Any contractor can install an air conditioner. Heck, any contractor can install an air conditioner and expect it to run for several years.
But “running” and “operating efficiently” are two very different things.
We ensure the quality of our installations and service through several important steps:
ONE: We have the largest HVAC training facility in Central Ohio
Each of our technicians receives over 200 hours of yearly training. This allows them to learn the latest technologies and practices, and also teaches them to identify problems before they arise.
The difference could be a $90 tune-up or a $900 repair. Which would you prefer?
Many companies don’t even have a training facility, which means their skills and knowledge suffer as the industry becomes more sophisticated and complicated.
TWO: We have a 57-point commissioning process for HVAC equipment
Commissioning is the process through which we test and calibrate equipment. If you’re getting a full system with all the bells & whistles, this can include up to 57 data points.
We use this to ensure optimal efficiency and performance. We also use it on future service visits, to make sure your system is performing as well as it was at the time of installation.
THREE: We use digital commissioning gauges to test the equipment in your home
Digital gauges cost more—sometimes thousands more—so you won’t see many companies using them. But they’re better, and give you a better result for your home, family, and personal comfort.
This isn’t everything we do to earn your trust over and over again. If you’d like to see the full range of practices we do to go above and beyond, check out our Fire & Ice Difference article.
Heat Pump Tune-ups, Installation and Repair
Heat pumps aren’t as common in Columbus, OH as air conditioners, because most systems use natural gas, which generally means an air conditioner + gas furnace is more cost-effective.
However, some area homes don’t have access to natural gas lines. Rather than simply leave these homes to fend for themselves, efficient electric solutions need to be available.
Heat pump technology has come a long way in recent years. The most advanced systems can even provide heat in the winter when the temperature is in the teens!
We provide a full range of heat pump options to rival the comfort and efficiency of any system on the market.
Air Filters, Whole-House Dehumidifiers and Humidifiers
Too muggy in the summer? Too dry in the winter? Do you have mold problems, bug infestations, cracked floorboards, dry skin, or frequent weather-induced allergies or coughs? HVAC can help with these.
We’re not just in the business of heating and cooling. We’re in the business of keeping you and your family healthy and comfortable. And that requires quality air filters, air purification, and humidity-controlling products.
