The percentage shows how much usable heat is produced by a furnace. Let's take the Trane XC95m, for example. It has an AFUE rating of up to 97%. This means that 97% of the fuel it burns goes to heating your home, while only 3% will be wasted in the heating process. What’s a good AFUE rating?
So, let's move on and cover what's a good AFUE rating. The minimum standard AFUE for new furnaces is about 78% amid efficiency.
