It is estimated that approximately 45% of households have someone suffering from allergies or breathing issues. One of the best ways to stay healthy in your home is with an air filtration system like the Trane CleanEffects air cleaner. In this video we’ll go over its features, explore the costs, and see who will benefit from this HVAC accessory.
Hi, I’m Bryan from Fire & Ice. Believe it or not, we spend a lot of time indoors. In fact, the average American spends 90% of the time inside and most of that time is at our home. If you’re concerned about the air inside of your house, especially if you or a loved one has breathing issues, this video is for you. We’ll break down the Trane CleanEffects Air Cleaner’s features, costs and discuss who will benefit the most from this piece of HVAC equipment.
What are the features of the Trane CleanEffects Air Cleaner?
The Trane CleanEffects is a hybrid filter and combines both a multi-level media filter with electronic filtration. To clean the air, larger particles are first captured in the pre-filter while smaller particles are electrically charged and captured by collection cells. These reusable collection cells are able to remove particles as small as .1 micron. For comparison, a human hair is around 70 microns. We’re talking microscopic filtration and up to 100 times more effective than standard 1-inch filters on the market.
This air purification system is capable of removing 99.98% of harmful particulates from the air and has an industry-leading clean air delivery rate. Not only will your air be healthier but your house will be cleaner too due to dust and particle reduction.
The primary insert is also easy to clean and reusable, giving you years of clean air. When the indicator says it needs to be cleaned simply clean it with a vacuum or by rinsing it, usually every 3 to 9 months. Additionally, its insulated cabin means it operates quietly.
How does the Trane CleanEffects compare to other filters?
Now you may be asking, why do I need the TraneEffects Air Cleaner? What’s wrong with my current filter? And those are good questions. Your basic, run-of-the-mill one-inch filters are cheap, made of fiberglass, and only go so far with filtering the air. Although standard air cleaners or media filters that use the denser 4-inch filters are good at filtering the air, they tend to increase static pressure inside your system, which has negative effects. I’m talking about decreased performance, hot and cold spots, poor airflow, and even premature failure of the system.
The CleanEffects Air Cleaner has the lowest pressure drop with the highest efficiency possible. It’s also able to clean the air much more than standard electronic air cleaners. This means less dust, pollen, pet hair and dander, dust mites, mildew, lint, fungus, tobacco smoke, cooking odors, and bacteria.
Who is the Trane CleanEffects Air Cleaner a Good Fit For?
If you are or someone in your home suffers from chronic allergies or has breathing problems a Trane CleanEffects Air Cleaner might be worth considering. I will say this system is not for everyone. The biggest downside is its cost and it’s no small investment. It also requires cleaning at least twice a year. If you let it work too long without cleaning it, it loses its effectiveness, reduces airflow, and ultimately puts a strain on your HVAC system.
How much does the Trane CleanEffects Air Cleaner cost?
To add the Trane Clean Effects to your home’s current HVAC system or with new installations, expect to pay around $2,200. This may seem like a lot, but remember that it doesn’t require replacements. New filters can cost you $50 to $100 per year. Over time, the CleanEffects can actually be less costly than these. But it will cost more upfront.
