Fire & Ice Fights Litter

At Fire & Ice, we are upset how much litter we see on our roadway. That's why we decided to ACT. We've partnered with Sponsor A Highway to clean up 200 miles of freeways every single month.

On Saturday, March 9th, 2024, employees of Fire & Ice, along with our friends from FLOW (Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed), Keep Columbus Beautiful, Buckeye Biochemistry, and RSC, participated in the annual Kick Butt litter cleanup!

Our presence at the event wasn't just a formality but a powerful statement of Fire & Ice's dedication to the local community and our social responsibility. This type of involvement in this cause goes beyond financial contributions. In fact, we want to set a precedent for other local businesses in the Columbus area to follow.

As a group of 35 volunteers, we picked up 648.5 lbs of trash off Interstate 71 along the Hudson ramp and in the Hudson Prarie. This initiative immediately beautifies and protects our local environment and sends a strong message about the importance of environmental awareness and responsibility.

It's about rolling up your sleeves, volunteering on your day off, being on the ground in these situations, and contributing in ways that create real, positive, and lasting change for years to come.

The owner of Fire & Ice, Scott Merritt, management, and other staff members were all present. As a company, we want to prove our commitment to this cause and make a difference in the community in which we live and work!

We want to show the importance of corporate social responsibility, which proves that when local businesses and communities come together for a cause, the potential for positive change is limitless.

We want to give a special shoutout to the F&I employees who made this possible:

  • Josh
  • Cynthia
  • Scott
  • Allison
  • Myka
  • Nettie
  • Alex
  • Luke
