If you’re looking for a quiet, reliable furnace that is easier on your budget, the Trane XV80 might be the system for you. In this video, we’ll break down the XV80’s features and go over who might benefit most from this furnace.

Hi I’m Bryan from Fire & Ice. We’ve talked with thousands of customers in the Central Ohio area and one of the biggest questions we’re asked is “how can I make my home more comfortable without breaking the bank?” One of the most popular solutions is the Trane XV80 gas furnace. In this video we’re going to cover:

  •  What are the features of the Trane XV80?
  • What is the Efficiency Rating for the XV80?
  • How much does the XV80 cost?
  • Who’s the right fit for this furnace?
  • And finally, what to do next.

By the end of this video you’ll know if the Trane XV80 furnace is right for you and your home.

What are the features of the Trane XV80?

Let’s dive right in and look into the features of the Trane XV80. First off, is its two-stage gas valve making it a mid-range furnace. A two-stage gas valve allows your furnace to operate in two capacities, at 100% and at a lower capacity between 60 and 70% unlike a single-stage furnace where it is either on or off. This allows you to have more control over the temperature in your home at a lower initial cost than with modulating furnaces.

Next, is its variable speed motor. Like the gas valve, the variable-speed blower gives you more control over the overall circulation of the air in your home giving you added comfort and better air circulation year-round.

Lastly, is its large, insulated cabinet. The Trane XV80 40” insulated cabinet allows for quieter operation and helps decrease static pressure or airflow resistance.

What is the Efficiency Rating for the XV80?

Furnaces are split into two categories based on their efficiency rating: standard or high efficiency. This efficiency is measured by an AFUE rating or (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) and is the percentage of fuel that goes towards heating your home. The Trane XV80’s is considered a standard efficiency furnace with an 80% efficiency rating. This means 80% of the fuel that is used goes towards heating the home, the other 20% is exhausted as waste.

High-efficiency gas furnaces, on the other hand, have an AFUE rating from 90% and can exceed 98%. To achieve this higher efficiency, direct venting is required to bring fresh air into the system and to exhaust waste gases, requiring additional piping to be run from your furnace through the side of your house to the outside.

The Trane XV80 furnace is the best furnace on the market when a high efficiency furnace is not practical, and you still want reliable comfort levels.

How much does Trane XV80 cost?

Now for the burning cost question, “what does it cost” question. The Trane XV80 furnace can cost between $4,620 and $5,390. This price includes the cost of equipment, labor, and any additional fees. For comparison, a new furnace replacement can range between $3,300 to $8,300 making the Trane XV80 a reliable, mid-range option.

Factors that can change the price include:

  • Size of the home
  • filters or other indoor air quality products
  • the location of where the installation will occur
  • and if you need to make changes to your current system.

These factors create a range in price for both the furnace or a full system installation.

Who is Trane XV80 a good fit for?

Now you may be wondering, is the Trane XV80 right for me? If you are a homeowner looking to relace your current gas furnace and make your home more comfortable, the Trane XV80 could be right for you.

The XV80 also works well for many mid-sized budgets. And thanks to its two-stage gas valve and variable speed motor this furnace can eliminate hot and cold spots in your whole home. A perfect solution for split-level and multi-story homes.

However, due to its 40-inch cabinet size a clearance of at least 7 feet is needed to properly install this system in your home. Additionally, the Trane XV80 will be able to work along side any non-communicating air conditioner. Check with your HVAC partner to confirm that your current air conditioner is compatible.

What’s the next step in the process?

Let’s talk about what to do next. If you think the Trane XV80 is right for you click the “get a quote button” to receive a free estimate for installation. Thank you for watching and we look forward to making your day even better.

The team from Fire & Ice replaced our heating and air conditioning system in our nearly impossibly small furnace room (I feared they would have to remove our hot water tank and move the washer & dryer to get access to the furnace unit) and the outside was also a task because it required a crane to get the A/C unit on the roof of our condo. The team of pros from Fire & Ice were able to accomplish all of these unusual tasks and kept me fully informed on what was needed for them to get our units replaced. We highly recommend Fire & Ice. Fire an Ice installed my furnace two years ago so I decided to use them to install my new a/c. Bryan did a great job reviewing all my options and working to get the financing that worked for me. He was also very patient with me and answered all my questions. Demetrius and Will did an amazing job! Considering all the work they did, they were done in four hours. I’m very pleased and would recommend Fire and Ice to anyone needing HVAC services

The sales experience with Luke was great. The installation team of Demetrius, Tyler and Hassan was fantastic. They were on time, were very thorough and did a great job. They take pride in their work and it shows with the final product. They were very respectful, cleaned up and it was a pleasure having them in our house. I highly recommend all these employees and this company. The company is fortunate to have them.

Brandon was the one who installed our new furnace. He was punctual and very professional. Our new furnace is working great and couldn’t be happier with how it looks. Bryan the sales rep was very informational without being pushy and helped us make the best decision for our house. I recommend anyone who needs a new Hvac unit to call fire and ice.

We had 2 AC systems relocated and replaced. Roger (our sales contact), spent most of the day with us calculating the load and measuring the house to ensure proper equipment sizing. Roger was very responsive in helping select a proper and sound location to install the new systems. He came out 3 times to answer questions and inspect the retaining wall/pad. On the day of install, Bryan, Nick and Luke were on time and very respectful of the home. They worked tirelessly the entire day (8am - 6pm) removing the old evaporator(s) and installing the new compressors. Everything was done neatly both inside and out. I would highly recommend their service to anyone considering a new system(s). We just followed up with a pair of new furnaces. Fast scheduling and efficient installation. Luke and Brandon protected the floor and cleaned up after the install.

I had a positive experience with Fire and Ice in the past and my AC installation was even better. Brandon and DQ were very professional. Not only was the install super clean with an impressive 4 fitting duct bend sealed tight, but I needed to work from home during the install and I barely heard them throughout the day. I’ll be recommending F&I to all my friends.
