Fire and Ice Participated in the Annual Dash for Donation through Lifeline of Ohio on Saturday, July 9th, in Genoa Park.

The event is an annual series of running events that are family-friendly and is the biggest awareness event and fundraiser for Lifeline of Ohio, said Jessica Petersen, Media and Public Relations Coordinator for the organization.

The event was the 23rd annual for the organization and included a kids and mascot dash, a 5k run and walk, and a family fun walk. Fire and Ice’s Fireball participated in the mascot dash along with Lou Seal from the Columbus Clippers, Lifeline of Ohio’s Honey Bee, Crew Cat from the Columbus Crew Soccer Club, and other mascots from local businesses in the area.

Honey Bee and her friends met at the Good Day Columbus studio to promote the event before the race.

The route for the 5k starts in Genoa Park in Columbus and goes through downtown along the Scioto River.

Petersen said the event is used, “ to bring together all of the connections to donation - honoring those who gave the gifts of life, sight, and healing, pay tribute to those who have received transplants, offer hope to those who continue to wait for their lifesaving gift and remember the lives lost while waiting for the gift of life.”

Fundraising for Dash for Donation closes in August and will be used to help support programs, honor the legacy of donor heroes, and care for the families of donors.

Lifeline of Ohio is an independent, non-profit organization that promotes and coordinates the donation of human organs and tissue for transplantation, helping to save and heal lives in Ohio and beyond. Lifeline of Ohio serves 38 counties in Ohio and two in West Virginia.

Fire & Ice is an HVAC company in the Columbus, Ohio, area that provides all aspects of residential heating and air conditioning equipment.
